With six elimination rounds, each team is required to perform a list of sexual directives that demonstrate their Dom and Domme strengths. Highest scoring team advances to the next round. Lucian Bane is paired up with Tara Reese. Not only is she the most sexually frigid woman he's ever met, she's a girl who's never even been in the lifestyle and is merely playing a role to get the money--and for what? None of his damn business, according to her. But she's not the only one with the "need" to win the money. And so, his plan is simple--dominate and win. A challenge that's turning out to be harder than he imagined when the woman is as stubborn as she is beautiful--and kick-ass strong. For Lucian, every bit of it calls to his own need and hunger to dominate, and he's laying it all on the line for the win. "Let the games begin."

I have to say I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this book. With D/s being pushed so hard and fast into the mainstream, I thought it would be your typical Dom meets girl, Dom Makes girl submit through spanking and flogging, totally hot. It was totally hot, but I can't tell you how surprised I was to meet a whole new type of Dom in this book. It was totally hot, but I can't tell you how surprised I was to meet a whole new type of Dom in this book. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but the more I read the more I realized that this book strikes at the heart of what it truly means to be dominated by a man. A man who is ineffably confident, strong, and secure in who he is and that allows him the freedom to be totally loving, open, and honest. Lucian Bane is that kind of Dom. In most D/s stories you don't get to see the human side of the Dom. They are always in control, never shaken, but in reality, all Doms are just men. Men with a need to control out of love and respect. Men who strive to earn the ultimate gift of submission from a woman. Lucian Bane is a truly an ineffable Dom because he has all those qualities and isn't afraid to show them to us. In Dom Wars you get to see deeper, into the human side of a Dom. How they too can be shaken, how falling in love can affect them, and how they too have their own issues to deal with. That is what I loved so much about this book! That and the fact that Lucian Bane totally dominated my heart. He's real and raw, and because he is a true Dom, he's not afraid to be vulnerable and human sometimes. Doesn't mean he's not the one ultimately in control. I can't wait for the next books in this series. I can't wait to see him come to terms with the love he has for Tara, who is such a strong female and the ultimate challenge for him, and earn her total submission. I loved the most when he unleashed his true Dom and gave Tara exactly what she was craving. When she finally submits to him in this book. God! So hot! So sexy. So panty melting. So well earned. Plus, bonus! Dom Wars was funny, which I didn't expect either. I was laughing at loud at parts. Hot, sexy, dominant, real, raw and funny. Lucian Bane, ineffable Dom and everything I need to make me submit to the Dom Wars Series. I cannot wait for Book 2 to see where he takes their relationship to next. Read it. Feel it. Fall in love with Lucian Bane. I have

Well, it seems that I am very much in the minority with my opinion on this book but I really did walk through the first few chapters thinking that I'm not in Kansas anymore! The BDSM scenes in this just seemed so very clinical to me - they're all acted out without any real passion and I never saw any affection growing from Tara towards Lucian at all. Also, there's some real arseholes competing using violence rather than domination and no one other than Lucian really seemed to object! Everyone bar me has given it 5 stars so I guess that I'm missing something here but I closed this book feeling confused and non-plussed. So sorry not to have got it and I really hope the author does well with this.

WOW! I really enjoyed this book... Lately with the rush of male authors on the scene and everyone jumping on their dicks like they can do no wrong, I wasn't sure what to expect. I think that most people forget that men have dominated the writing world forever... it's only recently and in the romance category primarily that women are outnumbering them right now. So, I was very happy to read this and find an original concept and a story that sucked me in and that I massively enjoyed. I said it was kind of like Hunger Games but for the BDSM world. LOL! I mean without the murder and what not, but you get what I'm saying. I won't go into details because it would be too easy to give things away. It wasn't the best book ever but it was a damn good start!!! It was hot, and touching, and very entertaining and funny. I can't wait for the next one, which I hear will be out in a few months or so! Woo Whoo for no extremely long wait time!!!!

There were parts of this book that were sweet and cute, but all in all, I was disappointed. I couldn't really get into the story or connect with the characters. The whole storyline just seemed a bit forced and mechanical to me. Lots of other people seemed to really love this story, but it wasn't for me. This is one series that I won't be continuing.

Come play in our group! Fans of Lucian Bane and the Dom Wars Series I LOVED this novella. It was witty and sexy and REAL. Even the reality show seemed a possibility due to the reality crap on TV today. I'd totally watch Dom Wars! I loved how much Lucian put himself out there. He was a Dom that showed his vulnerability, his care, his kindness. Tara couldn't have a better guide into adult sexuality that Lucian. It doesn't make her less of a woman to be submissive in the bedroom. Subs are, after all the ones who are in control. They're the ones who can say no, or safe word out. I love that in a lot of ways, BDSM is therapy. It involves things people often have trouble with: trust, commitment, control. But what a fun way to work those issues out. I really felt that Lucian loves, respects and cares for women, just in general. A true Dom is protective to his core and Lucian is a true Dom. But all of those feelings are amplified when it comes to Tara. His soul seeks hers. Extra points for cum play! :) Well done. Recommended read. See shelves for shorthand review. :)

This book. Really? I felt it did nothing but make fun of the lifestyle. Took everything about it and stomped it in the ground making light of it. Turning the collar into something insignificant. Her constant whining throughout the whole book grated on my nerves. Her "acting" as a Dom and then having Lucian put a collar on her and lead her around gave me one of many "eye roll" moments. Lucian... I don't even know what to say or think about how this character is even remotely either Dominant or submissive either. Lucian is a Dom? Really? He sounds weak to me. Not believable. And all the laughing about other peoples kinks that Tara does. "Ew" this "giggle" that. Drove me insane. This is obviously written by someone that knows not one damn thing about the lifestyle. These characters, if anything, should have been written as Tops or bottoms. They aren't even Switches. Both characters are weak, both trying to gain the upper hand and failing miserably. I almost felt insulted by this book having anything to do with the D/s lifestyle.

I think I would have liked this book more if it weren't for the main female character Tara.. I HATED her! really really hated her... The name of the author and the male lead are the same.. I don't get WTF that's about... According to goodreads page for "Mr. Bane" he is involved in "the lifestyle" Is this like the new thing males from the BDSM lifestyle are writing books about it?... another example being Interview with a Master.. I gotta say I'm not impressed with how they're writing the women characters.. pick a personality... preferably just one.

I enjoyed this one... immensely. *Currently free on Amazon* Lucian... a retired Dom, when he sees an article for the show 'Dom Wars', his Dominant being comes out to play. Tara... her Gran's suffering has led her to 'Dom Wars' she needs the cool One Million dollars the show is offering for her. Only problem, she hasn't a clue about BDSM. Now I don't really read BDSM books anymore, I got bored of the clichés. The hero and heroine do have cliché elements, but that's not all they are, nor is it what the story is based upon. Tara and Lucian meet at the audition waiting line. After some great banter (this book is filled with great banter!!!) Lucian soon becomes fascinated with Tara. 'She was this… this woman, this strange and amazing woman, this puzzle I needed to sit and stare at and piece together. And I would. For the next three days, I'd piece her together. After I tore her completely apart.' Tara accepts Lucian's offer to pair up, so he may help her with everything she doesn't know, but she insists she is the Dominant and Lucian is the submissive. From then on they have to play out BDSM elements, gaining points for each task completed. The list of BDSM acts that they are free to do, is anything from blindfolding to blood letting. I thought it was so funny, Lucian tricks her into thinking she is the Dom, when it's clear that he is. The roles are so mixed up, he even allows her to make him crawl on all fours with a collar. So, despite the BDSM; it wasn't heavy hitting, raw S&M, it was very erotic with vanilla parts that involved powerplay. Also, it's not a full on erotica, it's got a lot more depth and it's FUNNY! I really loved the characters dynamics, effective character traits and witty banter. Lucian is one of those Doms that not only likes to be sadistic, but he likes to care and please. He has easily become one of my favourite Dom heroes, even in such a short book. The writing was extremely fab, it was to the point yet descriptive and the erotic scenes were not only very hot but also fun. "I'm going to imprison you in pleasure. Until you're crying. Until you're begging. Until your well kept secrets are on fire and dripping down your thighs. I'm going to crush your sexy resistance with my lips and tongue. And I'm going to be right at your scorching mouth, eating up the sounds of your mind blowing orgasm until you say it - no, until you scream it. Lucian. Lucian Bane. That's what I want you to scream while I milk the ecstasy from your pretty little soul."

The "games" are stupid as all get out, the judging of the games is worse, and there's a sort of non-conflict conflict that just does nothing for the story. Well, I guess it does, but it didn't have to. Could have gotten there a lot of other, more believable, ways. The sex is boring. No, I'm serious. Borrrrrrrrrrrring. The writing is only mediocre. Call me a snob, but if you want to be a "writer" and expect people to pay for your books, you should know the difference between "your" and "you're," or be willing to hire a proofreader and/or editor. Overall, this is a complete waste of money. Honestly. Just don't bother. This book makes 50 Shades (repetitive, unlikely, and poorly written) seem like a literary classic by comparison. Save your money and buy the Weekly World News instead. It's better written, more interesting, and more believable. EDIT: I recently read here that Bane (who I remain convinced is a woman masquerading as a man) has "conformed" his will to God's with respect to his relationship. I am no longer a practitioner of any religion, but I believe the Bible is pretty clear on the concept of sex outside of marriage; anyone who claims that they are practicing what God preaches and then expounds the virtues of sex between virtual strangers? Is either lying about their spirituality or actually doesn't get it. Either way, it seems a manipulative ploy to mention it here.

There are expressions which make me cringe. They scream ignorance, arrogance and appropriation loud and clear. Just as "my inner goddess" belongs to this, so does "my inner dom". When I read the synopsis of this book I was super excited- a BDSM themed reality show? What a great idea! The concept of this story- multiple Doms competing to be the "top Dom" was absolutely brilliant and original. Like Tara and Lucian this book didn't turn out how I expected. I love the concept but I couldn't connect with the characters and became very confused as pretty much all of the BDSM elements in this book were misconstrued or didn't make sense. The show was casting for Doms yet contestants were put in a D/s position- well wouldn't it be Switch Wars then? I also couldn't get over Tara's demeaning attitude and ridiculous statements like "But a Dom is merely a personality trait, sir. I didn't read anywhere in the manual where you can't be your own boss." "I'm the Dom. This Dom likes to do sub things." Furthermore, she ridicules others at the competition and refers to aftercare as "stupid" and for "wussies." I didn't find these traits along with her personality appealing. The male characters I felt were cast into roles that were too black and white. The "alpha" and strict Dom was a man who was abusive and cruel to his subs. While Lucian (the character) was a gentle and emotional Dom- to the extreme of crying during a scene. There was no grey area for Doms- strict yet very in-touch with humanity and those are the type of Doms I like to read about. Overall this book just didn't work for me. Although, I couldn't connect with the characters or content I would read a different themed book by this author in the future.

This book blew me away!!! It's beautiful to read a story that isn't based on a fictitious stereotypical type of Dom. The BDSM world is as varied as the color scheme, and no one person or a manual can define the lifestyle. This author made sure to show his readers that there is true beauty in the power exchange, and that each person in a D/s relationship should define for themselves how their interactions should go. I absolutely love that he didn't just go to the prescribed way of so many books out there. Tara, the heroine, was a fascinating character. Your heart will break for her, and without giving any spoilers, you will be able to see that there is something broken about her right away. She needs something more, something that will help her on the path to healing her heart. Or maybe, she just needs Someone. Lucian is a man. Yes, he is a dominant man, but he is flesh and blood, and he has his own cross/crosses to bear. He has had painful experiences in his life, familial problems as well, but there is more going on with him than he reveals. I think that he's not even scratched the surface of the inner turmoil that makes up his life. We will have to wait and see... The way Lucian see Tara is a beautiful thing, and even in this first book, he is questioning himself, at whether he's doing things right with her, and if he was a true Dom. I love that he is not so confident that he becomes cocky in his dealings with her and life in general. It leaves room for growth, and less room to make irreparable mistakes with Tara. Tara on the other hand, is not your typical definition of a submissive. She has a steel-like strength that cloaks all this vulnerability that calls to the Dom in Lucian. He knows her strengths and is proud of her for them, but he also recognizes her weaknesses and wants to help her through the darkness to light that she could grow and bask in. Ultimately, this is a love story, that has D/s as an added layer. But the finding of love, true love, is the ultimate goal of this story. Will Lucian be able to help Tara succeed in finding that part of her that she lost? Will Tara be strong enough to submit to Lucian in the way that his soul needs? When all is said and done, will they have each other to love, to give and take from each other as needed? We will see. As those who know, I always end my reviews with two very important items: Is there an HEA and does anyone cheat? First, it does NOT have an HEA. It is a somewhat of an HFN, I suppose you could say. This is going to be a series of 6 books, with one book published every six weeks, so there won't be much of a wait. And after reading this one, I definitely don't mind the wait. The ending doesn't end in an angsty cliffhanger where you're biting your nails, wondering if the world is going to end. So I think it's easier to deal with. I have NEVER read a series that promised this many books in it, but this one has a different feel, so I'm in it for the long run. Second, NO CHEATING!!! Lucian is completely hooked on Tania, and wouldn't see another woman if they fell in his lap, naked. Seriously!! Well... what are you waiting for?? Go and get this bad boy NOW!!!

I really had fun reading this book! It was steamy, the characters had good chemistry and surprisingly had plenty of humor. This story is refreshing because while Lucian's character is wholeheartedly a Dom, he's not the kind of Dom that you would expect. While we know that there are other books in this series the book did not leave off with a major cliffhanger, which I really can appreciate. But it is perfectly clear that the story is far from over. I like the mindset of the organization that put the Dom Wars competition together, all I have to say is score one for soccer moms all over the world! So yeah I do recommend this book and with that said peace out peeps!!! Happy Reading

I can't even express how happy I am to see all the male writers getting into the smut genre. Lucian Bane is now at the top of my list. Naive Tara meets Lucian in line for a BDSM internet reality show. Lucian can tell that there must be an ulterior motive for Tara to be there to win the money. Naive Tara meets Lucian in line for a BDSM internet reality show. Lucian can tell that there must be an ulterior motive for Tara to be there to win the money. To him she is too sweet and "normal" to live the lifestyle. He decides he needs to team up with her to protect her from the dark element in the competition. They will split up the winnings. As they get into the competition, Lucian realizes he was right about Tara, she is gaining all of her knowledge through the manual. I love that Lucian is real. You don't normally see feelings with doms, but Lucian wears a lot of them on his sleeve. In all the years he has been a dom, he has never developed feelings towards a sub (Tara is an unusual sub, she has some dom in her as well). Now he has and he is going to see the reality show out to keep her safe. I'm so looking forward to following their relationship through the series. Can't wait for book 2 and beyond.

I rarely read BDSM fiction anymore because of the way Doms are generally portrayed as self-absorbed jerks and subs as brainless twits willing to tolerate anything. The Dom Wars plot provided a brilliant showcase for a realistic man who could be both Dominant and Human. Lucian Bane has given readers an alternative to the arrogant, chauvinistic jerks that litter the pages of BDSM fiction. Suddenly, female readers interested in the lifestyle won't be victimized by every abusive pig out there calling himself a Dom, because now they know what the real thing looks like. The book is excellently written in a strong style that brings the reader right into the characters' heads. The characters' emotions were realistic. I've seen a little criticism of the 'insta-love' - I have to say, Hubby and I met almost 28 years ago, and fell in love within a couple of hours, and married 6 weeks later. So 'insta-love' in a book isn't a problem for me, but I'll reserve judgement on that aspect until after I see how realistically the relationship is developed. Even when two people love each other deeply, there are still issues to be worked out, so I can believe that part IF Lucian and Tara have to learn how to be together. I saw some points that could be further developed or explained, but since this is a series, I trust the author will address those points in the future books. Overall, Dom Wars Round One is an excellent read, and I'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment!

I read this book with a little apprehension. I was stepping out of my comfort zone with this genre. Mr. Bane's writing is both tender and strong. He gives us a Dom who is different . Who isn't afraid to display a love for Tara, the heroine. He shows us the world of BDSM and how women don't need to be broken to deserve love. That both the Dom and the Sub should give completely of themselves , and the result is pure love. I applaud Mr Bane for taking this stand. A little fast paced but love that someone has written a D/s book that is a bit more realistic. Next step would be a BDSM book that doesn't start with someone or someones who are broken and turn to kink because they are too broken to have normal relations. I would like to see mentally healthy people who had a happy childhood who happen to like kinky sex...

Loved this quick read and loved Lucian. He's sexy, but sweet and the way he heals is Hot! I really like that he wasn't always rough and that he could take care of a woman. He doesn't like hurting women and he wasn't afraid to show that. I really admired that about him. I just really hope that Tara lets loose more in round two. I thought it was cute that she went in not really knowing what to expect or what she was doing and that Lucian wanted to help her. 3.5-3.75 stars Definitely a different concept and one that had me intrigued. I did enjoy the Dom Wars portion of the story and not knowing what was coming next in the challenges. But I wanted more of a back story for Lucian and Tara before they were just thrown into this situation. Also, with the timeline of the book and the short time they were together, my biggest pet-peeve in a book came into play. Insta-love :( I would still recommend this book to friends. I really did not enjoy this at all. The premise was great, but it fell flat. The main female character annoyed the hell out ot of me. And the ending... that ending was ridiculous. Everyone has different tastes, but this was not my cup of tea.

5* is just NOT enough. WOW this book was amazing, from page one, Lucian Bane is a force to be reckoned with, he captivates you, sultry, hot, smooth wording and the way he can worship Tara makes you believe you are actually her through the pages. Tara seems a lost soul, she is looking for an ending to a situation in her life and who best to help her than the man, the DOM Mr Lucian Bane. Excerpt:- ''Tara, your safe love. I promise. I wouldn't ever hurt you. Tell me you believe that''. If you think thi 5* is just NOT enough. If you think this is another FSOG you will be sadly disappointed, this my friends is a REAL take on what Lucian thinks a DOM should be portrayed, and quite frankly the way he describes a true DOM you won't be going for vanilla sex after you read this. Throughout the book I was getting the feeling Lucian was 'feeling' more for Tara than she was for him, she was cutting herself off, going into Dom Wars with one thing on her mind, the prize. But she won Big time when she claimed 2 prizes by the end of book one. She goes for the role of a DOM to begin with but when Lucian takes the lead, takes control and steps up to his role, my how those tables turn. Excerpt:- ''I'm the DOM tonight'' Her walls shot up and pain hit me. It didn't matter how much that hurt. It didn't matter that it was like having my baby sitter afraid of me. I had promises to keep. I had chains to break. And I had a woman to free''. So read no more of this review, kick back and let Lucian Bane spin your mind. Round 2 can't come quick enough. Round One

Dom Wars was a book that was highly recommended to me on our Facebook page so I jumped at the chance at reading it. Now, this is quite the unusal book. First of all, the premise will either intrigue you or repulse you. I think I experienced a little bit of both. The idea is that there is this reality TV style show called Dom Wars where Lucian Bane goes to try to be the top dom. Why? I haven’t the slightest clue but I was intrigued by the idea regardless. However upon starting the book, I was hit by a lot of confusion. First of all, Lucian’s narration sounds very different than what I thought it would be. It couldn’t tell if it was a girl or guy a lot of the times and Tara seemed a little unsure at times as well. While the sex isn’t bad, I found that the way the book was carried out was too out there for me. I had to suspend a lot of belief and I think that kind of ruined the experience for me a little bit. I thought it was kinda cute how Tara was so inexperienced and got her instructions from a BDSM manual on her e-reader, but again, because of that, it made dealing with the hardcore aspects of BDSM seem farfetched since she was virtually clueless right before. I doubt I will be continuing the series. There was too much that didn’t work for me. However, if you’re in the mood for a quickie read with a dash of BDSM, then this one is something that may work for you.

OK WOW!! This book was amazing!! It lived up to the hype surrounding it and more!! If I could give it more than 5* I would!! Lucian has written this so well it had me completely hooked so much so that I finished it in one sitting! I think I have to say it is definitely the best book I have read surrounding the BDSM lifestyle! It shows the more 'human' side of the DOM, the loving, caring side of him rather than just the 'dominating for sexual pleasure' that has been in most books recently. It sho OK WOW!! It shows that the DOM has feelings too and that he's not afraid to show them, which I loved! Tara is a naive girl to the lifestyle but not completely submissive in her tendencies in that she is very strong willed and has overcome a very tragic incident she suffered as a teen. I think Lucian and Tara make a great couple, they are both strong individually but I think were even stronger together. They cared for one another and looked out for each other throughout their whole experience. I have to say I had tears in my eyes at some parts and was then laughing out loud other parts! Lucian took me through all the emotions and I absolutely loved it!! Some of it was very intense and some parts very HOT, panty melting HOT!! I was drawn into this book and the characters straight away, I suggest that when you read this make sure you can carry on to the end because you will not want to put it down!! Loved this so much, highly recommend it and can't wait for the next!!

DNF this book. I stopped about 30% in. I tried and tried to push through and I know I'm in the minority here but all books are not for every one and this one was not for me. It seemed very clinical. No emotion. No good character build up. And the writing style just at times was hard to follow. Don't base my review on wether you choose to read it or not. You may like it. I just couldn't do it.

Tara isn't in the lifestyle and is only there because she desperately needs the money, but despite her naïveté her black belt in Ju Jutsu and her smart mouth make her someone to watch...but she needs to get over her modesty in the bedroom if they are to have any chance at winning. As they explore their sexuality, they grow closer and eventually are able to help each other move on from a difficult past. I've dabbled with erotic fiction, read maybe a dozen books in the genre. Some were good, most disappointing. This book is one of the shining lights. It's short, at 131 pages it's only just a novel and there are some editing issues as you would expect with an independently released book but there is quite a refreshing honesty to this book. And despite a very simple story which is mostly about sex, there is quite a lot of emotional depth. My good friend Michele has been hounding me to read this book, and now I can see why. It's very good. Note: This book is set in the world of BDSM. It contains descriptions of sex including bondage and discipline that some may find offensive.
