What happens in Cancun doesn’t always stay in Cancun. When Emma Anderson and her friends decided to spend their senior year Spring Break in Cancun, she expected some crazy memories to end their final college days. What Emma didn’t expect was to meet Brandon Fisher. Tall and sexy, with dimples that would make any girl swoon, Brandon Fisher was literally the man of Emma’s dreams. She couldn't quite believe that this stranger, who seduced her every night in her dreams, actually existed. After serendipitously bumping into each other, Emma could not resist Brandon’s pull and spent an unforgettable night with him. Passing it off as a spring break fling, Emma never expected to see Brandon again. But when she started her first day at her new job a few months later, there he was. The only problem was, Brandon didn’t even remember her.

I've been holding off writing this review because I'm still not quite sure how I feel about it. I guess when it comes down to it this book wasn't bad but it wasn’t particularly great, either. Emma's a beautiful and popular college senior who's managed to hold on to her V card despite the fact she's had a serious boyfriend for a year. Right before her spring break trip to Cancun with her three besties, the winner she's dating decides to break up with her because she won't put out. Emma's not too terribly disappointed, though, because she has a secret; she's been having naughty dreams about a man she's never met taking her virginity on a beach. The dreams are so real that Emma already feels a deeper connection to her dream man than her ex. Time to move on! As luck would have it, Emma spots Mr. Hot Stuff dream man running on a beach in Cancun and can’t believe her eyes! I couldn’t believe it, either. Over the next several days she keeps a lookout for Dream Hottie but has no luck finding him. Finally it’s her last night in Cancun and through some reason involving bathrooms and not being able to find one, Emma’s booze cruise boat leaves without her. The company sends their marketing rep down to check on Emma and guess who it is? Go ahead; I’ll give you a minute. Yep, it’s her hot dream man, aka Brandon Fisher. I’m no math whiz but the odds of a.) having a guy you’ve never glimpsed staring in your nightly sex dreams, b.) seeing said hottie running on a beach during your vacation and finding out he’s real and c.) having all of the planets align so you meet your dream lover and get to spend the evening with him are pretty damn astronomical. Fast forward six months and Emma’s graduated and relocated to San Francisco to start a job with a successful marketing firm. Brandon’s never tried to contact her, even though she left him her number and a note after they did the deed, and she’s been depressed ever since. He was, after all, her dream man. When she finally meets her project leader she’s surprised to see its Brandon and he seems to have no recollection of who she is. My problems with A Night to Forget have more to do the story than the actual writing itself. Ms. Wood, who I believe is first time author, did a great job writing Emma and her three best friends. The dialogue was realistic and nothing felt forced or unnatural. In general the writing is fairly decent but there were just parts of the story that didn’t work for me. I don’t want to give too much away but Emma needed to ask some questions long before she did. When she did finally ask those questions I didn’t fully buy Brandon’s answers, or at least they didn’t make sense to me. Actually, there were more than a few parts of the story that just didn’t jive for me. This is number one of what I believe is a two part series. Despite my problems with A Night to Forget I’ll probably be picking up the next one just to see how everything plays out. I might have my issues with the story but I still want to see Emma get her HEA. ARC provided by the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review

I listened to the Audible version of this book during my commute to and from work this week. It was a nice story and entertaining. The characters were easy to like. I unwittingly read another book this week with many similarities. As a result, I started to confuse the details of the two stories and who did what. It was a fairly short book, with only about five hours of audio. It wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. It fell somewhere in the middle. The main character was a drag. I just couldn't connect with her. She was too childish and dreamy. I'm 22yrs old same as the character and i had a very thorough up bringing and told to wait for a decent guy that will treat me with respect type stuff but this character (Emma) she just seems full of fluff. like her head is full or unicorns and fairies, waiting for "THE ONE". this day and age that's an unrealistic idea. What's up with her being distant with her boyfriend Mike? they were supposedly "inlove" yet she was keeping him at arms length and pretty much leading him on. fair enough i can understand about waiting for the right guy, the one that you love and will respect you and yous can share a special moment but it just seems like shes playing with fairytale to me. the sex scene that started at the beginning was SUCH A CLICHE!.......i don't know guys. this book just feels like its going to be childish and dull. After forcing myself to continue reading the book, it was just as I thought RUBBISH. The plot was un-original and a cliché. The whole secret behind her need to wait for the right time was a cliché... The fact her dream man was actually real and just how she imagined him was shit and how she immediately trusted him, fell inlove with him and wanted to lose her virginity to him after only just meeting him!. Then BOOM months later after pining after him, he's back and he is her new boss, BORING! It's not even original. Him as character was boring as well. Next you find out that he just somehow felt this connection for her and he wanted to spend his life with her... fluff. Oh and guess what? they didn't have sex on the beach, she dreamt it all, so he isn't a bad guy that lead her on. The ending was totally predictable! Honestly there was no imagination behind it! Safe to say it's a waste of money buying this book and I sincerely don't wish to read the next book. I feel like I've wasted my time reading a teenage girls fantasy. dreams. Terrible!

(ARC received from publisher, All Night Reads, in exchange for an honest review.) The story starts off steamy and gets immediately weird. Emma has sexy dreams about some guy and magically meets him in Cancun. After spending one night with him (in which she is so drunk she passes out) she falls in love with him. Not one of her college girlfriends on this trip thinks this is weird at all. Obviously all these people are disconnected from reality. And, this is just one of my many issues with the story. But, wait, don't let me stop here. There are so many reasons to not like this book aside from the poor development. How about the writing? If someone older than 18 wrote this book I would be shocked. Since this book is closer to being novella, rather than novel you would think that the author would spend time laying a background story and developing the characters instead of harping on the same details over and over again. I think (or would hope) that the author intended for the reader to feel the angst and heartbreak, but I just couldn't care less. If it was a longer book, it would probably be on my DNF shelf. So, I guess the shortness of the book was my main motivation to finish it. The story ends abrubtly in a "cliffhanger" that was alluded to about eight million times in the 126 pages of this book. I just don't care enough to read the next installment; so I'm going to make my own ending to the second book (which hasn't been published and I haven't read): What I think will happen in Book #2: Girlfriend at the door is actually Brandon's old girlfriend that he has been trying to break up with and she won't accept that it is over. Emma gets bent out of shape, breaks up with Brandon, realizes that she is love with him and they get back together and live happily ever after because he is the man of her dreams, duh. What I want to be happen in Book #2: Emma is actually delusional, Brandon doesn't really exist and Emma is committed to a mental institution. There, now I never have to read the second book and I'm comfortable stating that is probably pretty close to what would happen.

Emma is not the only one spinning in a dream world. I'm still dazed and confused. First she has dreams starring the perfect man, then the dream comes true in Cancun when he appears in the flesh. He stays around long enough to "un-virgin" our sweet Emma. But he soon takes leave. So, Emma, who was virgin before she spent one drunken night on the beach with Dream Man is no longer a virgin. But you better not get too comfortable with that fact. 'Cause she might have been dreaming after all. Yep, sud Emma is not the only one spinning in a dream world. I'm still dazed and confused. So, Emma, who was virgin before she spent one drunken night on the beach with Dream Man is no longer a virgin. But you better not get too comfortable with that fact. 'Cause she might have been dreaming after all. Yep, suddenly she's a reinstated virgin! Are you lost yet? Well, it ain't over yet! There are two attempted rapes on Emma four years apart. Emma files charges on both men and that's the end of that. You get no more storyline there. So, off we go on another tangent and more on the here again/gone again Dream Man. Several months pass since the Cancun encounter between Emma and her Dream Man or maybe a ghost because, at this point, I'm not sure of anything. Emma starts her new job in San Francisco, and you won't believe who reappears once again, nor what role he's now playing in Emma's life. Are you thinking nightmare yet? Okay, seriously this one stretches the imagination too far. It's ridiculous and unbelievable to say the least. There were way too many editing errors to count. Secondary cast members added a little flair and creativity to the story but even they couldn't bail this one out. And there's going to be even more . . . because there's a dang cliffhanger in the form of a human (I think) who rings the doorbell in the very last scene. Read at your own risk.

I have to say, for ME this book was a VERY enjoyable read. I read for pure enjoyment and I don't take my romance reads very critical. I don't mind if things occur in a book that are a little far fetched, this is not a true life story I'm reading! I also don't mind if there is an error, oh well, most of the books I read are ARC so I just move along. This book read to me as a fantasy and, for me, once again, there is nothing wrong with that. I also take into consideration that this is a debut novel and I hope that Jessica Woods keeps on writing because I ,for one, would LOVE to read more of her books. The sex/love scenes in this book were HOT! Even if most of them happened during the heroine, Emma's, dreams. I have to say that I thought the characters were well done. Brandon, the hero, was my favorite, that is until the end that literally left me hanging off of a huge cliff. Good thing book 2, A Day To Remember, will be in my hands very soon so I can continue on reading to find out what is going to happen next. Overall, I'm very happy that I read this book and I would recommend it to those of you who enjoy a fantasy type story that is a quick and easy read. *A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

It was the perfect beach read! I read the book while lying out in the summer sun and finished it within two hours. I just could not put it down. It was adorable, fun, sexy, and sweet all rolled into one great book. Casting: Emma is a college senior (AND VIRGIN) who has been dating the same guy for over a year. Though she thinks loves her boyfriend and he loves her she has never felt the spark with him or the need to sleep with him. He has been perfect & patient with her until she is ready until one day he confronts of her about the wait and the two break-up. Timing could not be more perfect as it is the week of Spring Break her senior year of college and Emma & her three friends head off to Cancun for some fun in the sun. Emma’s friends are totally fun and I can definitely see them getting their own stories in the future. While in Cancun Emma sees him… the man who has haunted her dreams and fantasies for the past few months. She felt guilty for thinking of another man while dating her boyfriend but she didn’t think he was real until now and he has a name, Brandon. They spend a romantic night together then reality hits and Emma must go back home… Six months later Emma is starting her new job and has moved to San Francisco but guess what…. Her new boss is the hot man who spent the night with Emma in Cancun and has been in her dreams for almost a year. Only problem is, he doesn’t seem to remember who she is… I loved this book! It is a short read but so much fun. The story is told in Emma’s perceptive, both Emma & Brandon are really great characters. Brandon seems to be hiding a few things about his life from Emma and the end leaves on a gigantic cliff hanger! I NEED BOOK 2 NOW PLEASE! I really love Brandon and think he can explain himself, he just seems like too much of a nice guy to be playing Emma. I absolutely adored the relationship/friendship Brandon & Emma had when she started to work with him. Their flirting and interaction was adorable, I wanted them to figure out their past right away and just be together! The minor characters are fun too; Emma’s friends are a great group of girls. I can’t wait to read more about them as well. The book moves at a VERY fast pace. I wish it was a little longer and more detailed with events and time. One chapter they are coming back from Cancun and the next Emma has moved to San Francisco. I would have liked to have read scenes with Emma being heartbroken while finishing college after returning home from Cancun or even a nice goodbye scene with her three friends as they move on with the adult life. Sometimes it was just a little too fast for me. I highly recommend A Night to Forget to all my reading friends. It is an adorable book that will hook you in and not let you put it down until you are finished. I am so excited to read book two in the Emma Story series titled The Day to Remember... Brandon better not let me down! I give A Night to Forget (Emma’s Story #1) 4 Stars. ARC provided by the author in return for an honest review.

I hate writing not nice enough reviews, because I actually don’t like to waste my time on typing my opinion about something I want to erase from my mind. Unfortunately Jessica Wood’s story has to be put in this category. Being entirely honest I have to confess that A Night To Forget is weird and boring. Plot is constructed on Emma who are saving herself for a man of her dreams and when she ‘magically’ meets him on her spring break, she decide to give him her V-card. Please, what the heck is that? I couldn’t connect with Emma, who acted like a 14 year old girl instead of full-grown woman. She acts like life and love’s supposed to be rainbows and unicorns. It was pathetic to see how she acted around Brandon or how she was not ready for sex with her steady boyfriend but spent the night with a complete stranger. That’s just… plain stupid, naïve, selfish, unwise, thoughtless. And to be even more daft Brandon is Emma’s new boss and totally don’t remember deflowering her. He doesn’t know who she is. WTF is that? It’s delusional. The writing also is an issue. I was actually shocked someone older than 14 wrote it and that it was edited and published. Overall, The Night To Forget is a total cliché. If it was longer, I wouldn’t have finished it.

Engaging characters - a little short I would have liked a little more detail especially about the characters backgrounds. At times, Emma seriously made me cringe due to her immaturity. Although she is the type of person where her immaturity is quickly seen as adorable, her bumbling clumsy, easy going manner overtakes all negative aspects of her personality. I admired the way in which Emma didn't cave to peer pressure where relationships were concerned. She kept to her ideals and held out for what she wanted; quite literally the man of her dreams :) She has a fantastic support system in her group of friends and their loyalty to each other shone through the narrative. I would definitely read more Emma and Bradon and hope that the characters and plot are fleshed out considerably next time. Ultimately, A Night to Forget shows that everything happens for a resin including missing a booze cruise. A small price to pay to find your dream man. Don't you agree :)

Endearing romance story! This is Jessica Wood's first book and it is really remarkable. This is easy reading, fun and engaging story of what happened one night during spring break in Cancun and the ramifications thereafter. Recommended to all who still remember their college years, first romances and their first jobs.

DAMN IT. now to wait.... Jessica I'm so cursing at you with love. Jessica Wood’s debut novel A Night to Forget is simply stunning and original. Jessica left me wanting so much more and yet satisified. This book kept me guessing from the first chapter to the end. Hell, I’m still guessing! I’m not saying this in a bad way either. I was completely entertained with this novel and I was completely taken in by this story. Jessica’s debut novel is very well written and I couldn’t compliment it more. To be honest, the only reason it got a 4 from me is because I thought it was a little short. I loved the story, the imagery was beautiful and the cliffhanger at the end?! Well Shit. Is it August yet!? Cause I most definitely need to know what happens… and it’s killing me that I don’t! The characters were charming and realistic, and made you believe you were right there with them. Emma was super relatable to me being that she is such a klutz, and saying what she’s thinking out loud by accident. I loved that she had a past, but it wasn’t revealed right away. The love interest, Brandon was steamy and had that douche bag quality to him (or so you think…). Again, I tell you. GUESSING! Jessica you’re driving me crazy in a good way! Hehe. I also loved the group of girls who were the supporting characters. Especially Steph. I aspire to be someone just like her, but that will probably never happen. Steph is quirky, smart, funny, obnoxious, and knows how to party. I LOVE that in someone. Her motto – Work Hard, Play Hard. This books witty banter was excellent and it made me feel as if I was in the conversation with the girls. A couple of times I noticed that I put my own little comments into their talks, while reading. While this is a shorter novel, there is a lot going on. The occurrences between all the characters will keep you thinking about what’s real and what’s not real. Shit – I’m still wondering what’s real and not! I don’t want to ruin the story for you, so I’m not going to tell you what I’m talking about. HAHA! Read it for yourself.  I have to say, I’m grateful for the fact that Jessica kept me guessing cause I’m one of those people who figure it out and then say I KNEW IT! Then I get that whole complex about being right, like always. Congratulations Jess. You stumped me and that’s hard to do! I do feel better knowing that it’s not a murder mystery that I couldn’t solve though. However… if she does end up writing one eventually, I’m so down for it. Even though I bitched about it being short, I loved this book. It was fun, fast and something you will NOT forget. Not only do I want to visit Cancun to find myself a Brandon of my own (Shh. Don’t tell my husband!) and have a crazy good college time while being single… (sigh) Wait, What happens in Cancun stays in Cancun… right!? No… let me stop that thought before I get myself in trouble, haha. Anyways… This is an excellent work of art for a debut author. I’m excruciatingly waiting for the second novel to come out in August. That’s only 2 months… (SAID NO READER EVER!) I’m in agonizing pain waiting for this. 1 hour is too much for me right now! Jessica, I love you and I’m so excited for you. Now give me book 2! Seriously though, This novel definitely had the right amount of sexy, drama, laugh out loud moments, pain staking moments of tears, and just enough happily ever after. I suggest you read this RIGHT MEOW.

A Night To Forget is a sexy and fun read. I fell in love with Emma and Brandon and couldn't wait to see where this story was going to take them. This is another one of those books that had me hooked with the synopsis and consumed by the end of the first Chapter. I devoured this book in bed last night, with the pouring rain outside as a backdrop to this sweet story. A Night To Forget tells the story of Emma, a young woman who has a simplistic, orderly life that is void of any real passion. At the least the kind of passion that invades her dreams at night, in the form of a gorgeous, dark haired, dimpled man who sparks Emma’s desires. When Emma comes face to face with the man of her dreams while holidaying in Cancun, they share an unexpected night of passion. Once Emma returns to her life however, she comes to terms with the notion that she may never see him again. When the gorgeous Brandon renters Emma’s life again, Emma’s world is turned on its head as the gorgeous man of her dreams is now her boss. But as the two spend time together working one on one, will Emma’s deepening feelings for this gorgeous dream man be reciprocated, or will Brandon failing to remember the events of that one electrifying night ruin everything? What I utterly loved about this book was the little surprising moments that were beautifully weaved throughout the story. The moment that you thought everything was sweet and almost too perfect; Jessica Wood smacked the notion down with a little twist. It is hard to believe this is a debut novel, the plot was consuming and the pace was kinetic and I found myself anxiously captivated to see where this story would take me. The characters were entertaining and well developed. Emma is an endearing and likeable heroine, her shyness and awkward nature balance well with the enigmatic and somewhat dominating nature of Brandon. Brandon’s character is a dreamy amalgamation of the perfect man. He is sweet, charming, sexy and the little elements of over protectiveness he displays around Emma were well written and added a level of intensity to this book. This was an endearing and thoroughly enjoyable read, that also contained some angst that added a deeper underlying meaning to the story. This is a book that is exciting nonetheless and I found the fast pace (which was due to my impatient need to devour the story) to be refreshing. My only wish was that it was longer. I just wanted to keep reading this story and see the relationship develop even further between these two characters. Jessica Wood concludes the first instalment leaving you on the edge of your seat and the space wide open for the sequel to Emma and Brandon’s story – which will be seen in The Day To Remember (Emma’s Story #2), releasing in August 2013. I truly loved this book and would definitely read it again. I highly recommend it to everyone, and especially those out there like me, who love reading a good romance book. Now it’s just another impatient wait until August for The Day To Remember. 4.5 Shiny Stars Full review at http://louisasreviews.wordpress.com/2...

ARC provided by the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This is a hard one for me. I try to find something in the story I can relate to, because in the end - if I can find some piece that I can link to something then I can really end up feeling something. Whether that be for the characters, the story or even if I can find some type of personal relief. This sort of fell a little flat for me in the connection. Whether that be for the characters, the story or even if I can find some type of personal relief. This sort of fell a little flat for me in the connection. Emma has been having vivid dreams about a man she hasn't met. She is days away from heading to Cancun with her best friends for their last Spring Break in college. Her d-bag boyfriend who has been patient with her and her need to remain a virgin has lost his patience. Suddenly single, and in Mexico Emma meets Brandon. The man she has been dreaming about. After one night together, Emma finds herself months down the road - no word from her dream man until the first day of work. Brandon is going to be her team leader - but there is no spark of recognition in his eyes when they meet. From this point, there is a push/pull of Emma debating if she should just forget the fact that he doesn't remember her and still go for it, or if she should ignore him. But the pull they both felt before is not gone - and this starts off a fast pace - instant love relationship that ends with a cliffhanger. I will probably read book two for a few reasons. 1. I have to know how this turns out (damn cliffhangers do me in - Every. Time.). 2. There was potential there for this story and this author. This was a debut for Jessica Wood and I have seen far to many authors who start off with a story that is a tad bit shaky turn their next attempts into something better. I can't avoid seeing if that is true in this case. There were some minor phrasing issues that caught my attention and actually made me giggle. If I wasn't at least a little interested in how this would play out I would have reacted differently to these few items. The one that stood out the most was the mix up on the word "Pants" for "Panties" - so you can imagine the imagery that plays out when she pleads for him to remove his panties. Like I said if there was not something that I enjoyed about this story - that would have done me in right there. But I stayed with it and was able to stay focused on the story itself. This was not a read that blew me away. It was a middle of the road type of read for me, but like I said since it ends on a cliffhanger - I will be reading the next book with the hope that with the experience under her belt for the first book and the confidence that must come with hitting "publish" (along with the fear that also must bring); that her next installment will show growth. I do wish I would have loved this though. I loved the cover - I liked the idea of the story but there was just too many little things missing that I need in order to be pulled in completely.

He’s finally had enough of that and ends things with Emma right before her Spring Break trip to Cancun. What better way to spend a week in Cancun? Single with your best friends!! Emma’s friend, Jill, has kept them busy everyday and they are finally relaxing on the beach. And while standing on the beach she actually sees the guy she’s been dreaming about! She knows it’s him, she’s seen him nightly for months now! Having to look away from him then turning back, he’s gone. Her friends love the idea that she should find him and sleep with him. It’s meant to be! A couple nights later, after she missed the boat for a booze cruise, she’s well past drunk at the bar and HE comes over to talk to her! He wants to keep her company since he was the consultant for the cruise she missed. Offering more drinks, he asks if she’s like to go watch the sunset at his favorite place on the beach. Once there and talking, she decides the universe did make this happen and she wanted him, badly. Her dream is actually going to come true! She wakes up the next morning in his bed and it’s almost time for her to leave for the airport! Trying to wake him up doesn’t work, so she leaves a note with her number instead. Except he never calls. She’s devastated and feels used. That is kind of how it goes though. Even though she felt a connection with him, they had just met. Emma has now moved and is starting her new job. As you know, he ends up working with her and doesn’t even remember who she was! That just seals it that it was nothing but a mistake and if he has no idea who she is, then she’s going to forget too. I enjoyed this story so much! I read it in one sitting and couldn’t wait to see what happens next. There were times I was laughing, cringing in embarrassment or sighing in contentment. Jessica wrote a fun story and it a joy to read. I think it is a great beginning for her. A Night to Forget ends on a cliffhanger and I’m already anxious to see how it will end. 4/5 stars

Her boyfriend for a year Mike thinks he waited enough and they end up breaking up the day before she is to leave on spring break for Cancun. While in Cancun she is left behind and ends up meeting Brandon, who happens to be the man of her dream, LITERALLY!!! They spend the night together and she is pretty drunk and they have sex; or do they?!? Emma wakes early and realizes she is going to miss her flight and leaves Brandon an note with her number, but never hears from him! :( She is heartbroken and confused. A few months later Emma starts her new job, and her new boss is none other than Brandon!!! Problem is Mr. Hottie can't seem to remember her! Was she that insignificant? She tries so hard to keep a brave face and pretend she doesn't care. She starts noticing little things and tries to convince herself she is imagining him caring to save her heart from another disappointment. One night in D.C. something happens to Emma that brings them closer and she learns what is really going on. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, knew it was going to happen and imagined many different senerios. BUT.... What actually does happen I did NOT see coming!!! I will be on pins and needles waiting for book 2 in August!! This is a MUST read!! I could not put it down. I devoured it and it was delicious!! If this is the beginning for Jessica Wood I cannot wait to see where her talent takes us. :) Rating: 5 stars *** I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

Heartbroken she decides that focusing on her career will help her move on, that is until she realizes that Brandon is actually her boss and he doesn’t seem to remember her at all. While I did enjoy this book, I wish that it was longer, it only took me an hour and a half to read. At times Emma seems so juvenile, but you have to remember that her innocence is her main character trait! The one thing that really irritated me about Emma was that Brandon is very clearly hiding something “personal” and she never even bothers to ask or care, but she goes on and tells him the most personal thing about her. The book ends with a major cliff hanger and leaves you screaming for more. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and really hope it’s longer and also develops some other characters more (Gloria anyone?)

After graduation, she's employed in San Francisco, and hasn't spoken to Brandon for six months. What happens when they reunite, and things aren't what they seem? What happens when Mike makes a return? Most importantly, who's that knocking at the door? I enjoyed this story and the dynamic between the two main characters. Whatever comes next is sure to be a thrill. The bumpy ride had just begun. I do believe more could have between given to the story. thus far, it feels like all of the characters have received a half-hearted story line. I'm hoping for more excitement and more passion.

I absolutely loved this book from the very first page. I didn't put it down until I had finished the entire thing. I loved the fast paced and sexy aspects that this book had, while also leaving Emma as a real girl with actual issues, which tends to not happen in most books. The author absolutely had your attention and kept you on your toes and guessing about what was going on with poor Emma and dream boy. Her friends are the type that every girl dreams of, you can go out, have a blast with them and make memories, but then they also would drop anything to be there for her. Between Emma, her dream friends, and even dreamier man, I cannot wait for the next part of this book.

It's really a fairy tale of sorts...one in which the events do not seem real, yet the characters do? I'm not sure that I know how to explain it, but I liked it. I guess I would call it a fairy tale for grownups with a fairy tale HEA. Emma is a college senior who is looking forward to a career in marketing. She has exceptional grades, a great job waiting for her upon graduation, a boyfriend (who is a total d-bag) she has dated for over a year, four close friends who are there to support her....and the man in her dreams. She dreams about a particular man that she hasn't yet met, but this virgin - yes, virgin - has a very romantic and sensual relationship with this unknown man every night in her dreams. Right after breaking up with her boyfriend, Mike, Emma and her four friends go on Spring break to Cancun, where she learns that this man in her dreams is real, and he has a name....Brandon Fisher. Brandon could actually be the man in my dreams! From there the story begins to progress and the fun begins. Emma is a virgin who wants that special spark before she will allow anyone to deflower her, and she only feels that spark with Brandon. She's also a bit of a klutz, either spilling drinks, falling, or speaking her thoughts aloud at the most inopportune times. Emma also has a history that has kept her from giving all of herself to any man freely, including her boyfriend of over a year. Her history isn't divulged until the latter part of the book, but it is alluded to, along with the history of her mother. What surprised me in this book was how horrible Emma's history is, but she was able to freely share that information with anyone she dated. It's as if the words just freely flowed from her lips very matter of fact like with almost a nonchalant attitude. There is a lot happening in this story with Emma and Brandon. Their interactions keep the reader guessing as to what's real and what's really in Emma's dream. I admit that the line blurred for me quite a few times, as it did for Emma. Emma's dreams had such a real quality to them that she had a hard time determining if reality was really just another of her dreams and vice versa. I had the same problem distinguishing reality from Emma's dreams. While Emma's past remains a mystery throughout most of the book, Brandon also holds a few secrets of his own. I admit to guessing quite a bit as to what Brandon's "personal" business was that he had to take care of...a lot, but I was wrong. Just as I was wrong on guessing what Emma's past would reveal. The game of avoidance that Emma and Brandon played while they were face to face at work every day was my favorite part of the story. I was engaged, it was fun, and the author kept me guessing as to when or if Brandon would remember their time in Cancun. Guess what? I was wrong there, too. Usually, I pride myself on my ability to guess the answer when a story raises a question in me. I will stew on it a while and analyze it to death until I guess what's really going on or what's happening. This is why I love suspenseful novels so much. While A Night to Forget isn't a romantic suspense novel, the author did keep me guessing....and coming up with wrong answers. She had me at every turn. I came close to guessing a few times, but never really hit the nail on the head, so to speak. Did I mention that I enjoy it when I can't truly guess what's really happening? I do. A Night to Forget is a very fun and fast read that truly reminds me of a Disney princess fairy tale. I very much enjoyed the book and read it in one sitting, but there were a couple of areas that I didn't really connect with, which really put it into the fairy tale category for me. First, while I understand that Emma is only 22 years old, her maturity at times reminded me of a high school student experiencing a celebrity crush rather than a college senior about to take on the marketing world. This was not throughout the entire novel, but only a few times where Brandon was concerned. Second, as I mentioned before, Emma spoke a little too freely about her past that I would assume to have been very difficult for her to speak about. But overall, A Night to Forget is a delightful read that had me chuckling through quite a few passages. I loved Emma's friends, I loved Brandon, and I loved the guessing game the author played with me. There is a cliffhanger ending that I wasn't aware of when I started the book, but the wait for the second installment will only be until August. As a debut novelist, Jessica Woods has done very well and I look forward to the reveal of Brandon's secrets coming to light in book #2.

Well where to begin. I was honored to have been a beta reader for A Night to Forget. And right from the start I did not want to put this book down. This indeed is a story you will have a hard time putting down I know. I know I did. I do have to say this book has a major cliffhanger that will leave you screaming for more (well at least that's what I did when the story ended, was not expecting that ending). August cannot come soon enough for book two. I really don't think you will be disappointed. Well where to begin. I was honored to have been a beta reader for A Night to Forget. I'm looking forward to reading more of Jessica' s work and I'm glad she gave me a chance to be a beta reader for her. Kudos to you Jessica.
